Bass Lesson

Playing the Major Scale
The Major scale is the most important scale to learn. It forms the basis of chords and melodies, so knowing it will help you understand how bass parts work and also 80% of the theory behind music. In this lesson I show you 3 different fingerings for the Major Scale. I play the ascending forms of the traditional fingering then the 3 notes and 4 notes per string approaches over two octaves; you will have to work out the descending forms.
